I remember back in my senior year of high school - my best
friend since 5th grade was living in France. He wrote that they
didn't like Americans much. "They think we're all fat," he said.
With his own skinny frame, of course, he confounded their
belief. But, he added a funny, or perhaps ironic capstone to the
issue. "I went to a store, and they were selling statues of
these fat people, and, at the base of each one was written,
'American.'"
Obesity is not only an American problem. According to ...

Exercising During Commercials
I'm getting up an hour earlier these days. At first I said I'd
never be able to do it: I was already sleep deprived rising at 6
AM how would I ever get up at 5 AM? I'd never be able to get to
sleep earlier (this is still true), and a hundred other reasons
why it wouldn't work. And then I tried it, and it does work. I'm
still sleep deprived, but that extra hour in the morning is a
Godsend. I love it.

So why did it take me so ...

Using weight loss supplements to reach your weight loss goals.
Supplement is a word defined by Webster as such: Something added
to complete a thing or to make up for a deficiency. Even so;
some weight loss supplement companies market their products as
magic pills and some consumers think of them as such.
I believe weight loss supplements can be beneficial if we learn
to look past the hype and use them in addition to improved
eating habits as well as increased physical activity.
Know what you ...

First off, let me start by saying this list is by no means
exhaustive. However, if you can manage these four important
components of a weight loss program, you will be on your way to
a slimmer body.
Build the Foundation
Many people begin a weight loss program with their basal
metabolic rate (BMR), which is the amount of energy (calories)
your body uses in a resting state, in the gutter. The key then
is to increase your BMR so that you are burning more calories
throughout the day, every day. ...

Any food that we take into our bodies is composed of
macronutrients, micronutrients and water. The macronutrients
(macro = large) are protein, fat and carbohydrates; the
micronutrients (micro = small) are vitamins, minerals and trace
elements. Macronutrients provide the calories that provide
energy for life; micronutrients have no calories but are an
essential part of our diet. Without macronutrients we would
starve to death, without micronutrients we would die from health
deterioration. So, ...

bad points to using weight loss supplements. One of the bad

Fasting, when done properly, can be a basic part of a solid
weight loss plan. If done correctly it can be a great start to
your new way of living.
When I first started my weight loss program I began with a fast.
I have fasted for 2-7 days on a few different occasions. The
reason that fasting can be such a great way to start a weight
loss program is because you can see results immediately.
It will also make it very easy to stick to your diet for the

Mistake #1: Not changing your calorie plan as you lose
weight. The fallacy of the "1200 calorie diet" plans and the
like.
Most people fix their calorie intake to a given number and

weeks. Hence, dieters look for 1000 calorie or 1800 calorie diet
plans on the internet. The fixed calorie diet plans don't work.

week or two of losing some weight, you are no longer ...

below this range.
You can experience a weight loss plateau for different reasons:
1. You are consuming too many calories for the amount of
calories that you are burning off. 2. You are not consuming

As I watch the infomercials about weight-loss and as I hear
"success stories" about losing weight, it seems like the
definition of "success" is fast weight loss. "I lost 20 pounds

thing. Yet, national figures indicated that 95 percent of us who
lose weight gain it back. If these diets were so "successful,"
why do we gain the weight back?
Research indicates that slower weight loss of a half pound to

Gaining Weight Over A Long Period of Time Causes Health Problems

and post-menopausal breast cancer.
Excess fat cells function as hormone pumps to produce higher
levels of insulin and estrogen. When this occurs, cells divide
more rapidly and if ...
